"Bohemian" card project

This card is made with the beautiful "Bohemian" collection which is a Dovecraft Premium range from Trimcraft.
I have shown all the steps in making it below - enjoy!

You will need
Dovecraft Premium "Bohemian" 8x8 paper pad
Dovecraft A4 Premium Colour card
Dovecraft Ultimate Craft Glue
Dovecraft Premium "Bohemian" Card Butterflies
Dovecraft Premium "Bohemian" Adhesive Gems and Pearls
Trimcraft First Edition Nesting Stamp dies
Trimcraft First Edition Border dies

A4 white card
white card
double sided tape
3D foam pads

Die cutting machine

 1. Take the A4 piece of white card and make the card base following the template.

 2. It should then look like this.

 3. Cut the following sizes from purple card - 2(20.5cm x 7cm), 2(10.5cm x 3cm), 1(10.5cm x 7cm) and 4(7cm x 4.5cm). I have only set them on the white card to show where they should be placed at this stage - not attached them yet.

4a Select this page from the 8x8 paper pad.

4b. Cut two panels - one from each side of the page -  each measuring 20cm x 6.5cm and attach to the relevant purple card with double sided tape, then attach these to the sides of the card with more double sided tape.

5.Use the remaining piece from the page to cut 4 pieces of paper each measuring 6.5cm and attach to the purple card, with double sided tape. Then attach the 4 pieces to the card base with double sided tape.

6. Cut 3 pieces of patterned paper as shown measuring 2(2.5cm x10cm) and 1(6.5cm x10cm) and attach the smaller ones to the sides of the centre panel with double sided tape. Do not attach the centre part yet.

7.  Die cut 2 borders from white card and trim to fit the sides of the centre panel, attach with double sided tape and then attach the whole panel to the centre of the card so that the border sits out from the sides.

 8. Cut out a peacock from the patterned paper and die cut the second largest nesting stamp shape from white card.

 9.  Attach the white die cut diagonally to the centre with 3D foam pads and glue the peacock on top.

10.  Cut out two small butterflies from the butterfly patterned paper and glue on top of two card butterflies. Attach one to the small top right rectangle and the other to the small bottom left rectangle.

 11. Add gems and pearls.

Engagement card

This is an engagement card I made for a friend last week. I used Trimcraft Bella Rose papers, Papermill white linen and Raspberry Pink card along with Tonic Studios Indulgence Affections dies, Frond Finesse swirls and flowers from the Bellus Buttercup die set.

Thanks - Cregal Art, Galway

Galway
Thanks very much to all the ladies (and gentleman!) who came to Cregal Art on Saturday.A special thanks to Mary and Sara for inviting me and for looking after us so well. I really enjoyed it and hope you did too :)
The shop is well worth a visit if you are in the area - with plenty of variety and very helpful staff!

I grabbed a couple of quick photos on Friday evening just as it was starting to get dark.

Demo at Cregal Art, Galway on Saturday 25th April

I'll be demoing the lovely new Santoro Mirabelle collection by Trimcraft on Saturday at Cregal Art, Galway  - if any of you are free.

I've got lots of different things to demo eg Santoro, Paper Flowers and The Promise by Trimcraft, Promarkers and Chalk Paint by Plaid so plenty of variety!

Have you seen.... the Tangerine?

I've been using my Tonic Studios Tangerine for a few days and am very keen to try as many different types and shapes of die in it and I have to say - I'm really impressed!
I was especially keen to try out the new larger sized dies which Tonic have just released in the last few days and am really delighted with the results!
It's a very sturdy machine! I'll update when I've been using it for longer... :)

Tonic Studios Celtic Dream layering dies

Have you seen the new Celtic Dream layering dies from Tonic Studios? They are brand new and the set contains 12 dies going up to 166mm.
I've used the largest dies to make this little wedding favour bag and added initials cut with the Pretoria DuoCap Initials die sets. I made the handles and the decoration on the back from the Celtic Dream Collectable die set

I have used top quality white linen and baby pink card from Papermill

Cardmaking and Papercraft - May 2015 issue

My contribution to the May issue of Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine is a set of 5 cards and a matching tag made with Tonic Studios sentiment dies. It's the "knowhow" feature so there are plenty of instructions etc on the next few pages to show how to make them. I hope you like them and get a few ideas

"After the show is over........"

We're back home with our feet up after 3 great days at the Kings Hall with Mark, demoing for Crafty Devils. We've just had our dinner followed by the last of the Jammy Joey stash.

Thanks so much to Mark for having us again and for looking after us so well - it can't be easy spending 3 days between David and me, lol. At one point he was totally surrounded by "Hamiltons" today!
Thanks so much to everyone who came, watched the demoing and bought the dies. And thanks to all the lovely folk who brought us treats!
I really should have taken some photos but, as usual, when I get so busy I forget to take the camera out of my bag.
Thanks again to everyone who made it so special :)

"The Secret"- Santoro Mirabelle 2 stamp - coloured with Promarkers

This is a card which I've made using the Santoro Mirabelle 2 stamp  - "The Secret" and coloured it with Promarkers.
Below are the steps to colouring the stamped image.

You will need:
Trimcraft Santoro Mirabelle 2 clear stamp "The Secret"
Promarkers - Almond, Dusky Pink, Pale Pink, Antique Pink, Ice Grey 1, Ice Grey 3, Ice Grey 5 and Tea Green
Promarker Ultra Fine Nib

Black ink pad
Smooth white card

To make the card I have also used Centura Pearl card, Santoro Mirabelle 6x6 papers, dies and Diamante charm.
1. Stamp the image onto smooth white card with black ink.

2. Colour the face, neck and arms with Almond Promarker.

3. Add shading under the hairline, under the chin and where the arms dome out of the sleeves with Dusky Pink, then add Pale Pink to the cheeks.

4. Blend the colours together with the Almond marker and then add a little Pale Pink to the lips (do not blend).

5. Colour the stripes with Pale Pink and Antique Pink.
You will need to add an Ultra Fine Nib for the smaller areas.
Colour the heart in the centre with Pale Pink.

6. Let this dry for a minute or two and add a little of the same colours to the outside edges as shown to give depth. Add a little Antique Pink to the heart.

7. Colour the hair, bottom edge of the collar, around the heart, then the edges and folds of the skirt with Ice Grey 1. You will need to use the Ultra Fine Nib for the strands of hair.

8. Add depth by shading with Ice Grey 3 on the hair - leaving a little of the Ice Grey 1 showing as above.

9. Go over the outer edges of the hair and in parts where there would be a shadow with Ice Grey 5  - again using an Ultra Fine Nib. Add a little of the same colour to the outer area of the heart and the top of the skirt.

10. Use Tea Green to colour the eyes and all around the edges of the image to add more depth.

The beautiful new "Bohemian" range from Trimcraft will be on the shelves of your local craft shop soon, so here are some cards I made as a little taster of what it looks like.
The papers have beautiful sheen  which is perfect with the gorgeous stags, birds and butterflies, not to mention the lovely flowers.

I'll be making lots more cards etc soon with this range for upcoming demos so you'll be able to see more of the beautiful "Bohemian" items.
