80th Birthday card

Good morning. I'm so glad it's Saturday! I've got lots of housework to catch up on but I'm definitely taking some time to craft. It's been a hectic week and I think I deserve it....

Before I start anything else I thought I'd share this card with you. It's for a good friend who will be 80 next week. He always like to get a card with a dog on it but this time I decided that his big milestone needed to be the focal point so I cut out the numbers using Colour My World templates and matted them onto patterned paper (Up, Up and Away) which I cut out with my TonicStudios Square Shape Mates and layered onto plain blue card.
The image is Cairn Terrier ( but I've only added some Ice Grey 3 Promarker to make it like a Westie) from A Passion for Stamps.
At the top of the card you can see the cute little metal Happy Birthday staple which I added with my Tonic Studios Embellishment Stapler...

See you soon!

Another Wedding card

I made another silver and white wedding card but this one was really difficult to photograph - because of the plain silver I kept getting my own reflection in it so this was the best I could get!
This time I've kept it very simple -
I cut a circle out of white embossed card and then cut a smaller circle out of silver embossed card from which I had made a mat for underneath. I used my Tonic Studios Circles Shape Mates for this and then 2 Tonic Studios Heart punches for the centre. The white and silver layers are popped up on foam pads for a bit of dimension.
That's it - pretty straightforward!

Wedding Dress

We have a family wedding coming up in a few weeks and I have a couple of cards to make. This is an adaptation of one I made earlier ( you might think it's familiar!) but I've used my new Tonic Studios Simplicity Geared Border punches this time and here's how I did it...

1. Cut a circle using the outside of the smallest Tonic Studios Circle Shape Mate

2. Punch 2 shapes side by side around the circle using the Tonic Studios Daisy Border punch.
(in the same way as shown HERE)
3. Mark the centre of the top of the circle , then make 2 marks 1cm either side  as above  and cut from these two outside marks to each side of the Daisy punches

4. Make a long mark from the centre of the top and  2 marks 0.25 cm from the top on each side

5. Using the Tonic Studios Dotty Border punch and the marks  as guidelines. punch on both sides of the centre to make the waist.

6. You can then use a thin embossing tool to draw lines on the dress from the waist to the side

6. Punch 2 Dotty Border shapes side by side

7. Mark and cut as shown in the photo above.
This is the bodice.
Stick this piece to the back of the skirt part.

I added the little cutouts from the Daisy Border punch, some Stickles and a few gems to finish

A Krafty Affair

Good morning. Happy Mothers Day !! I hope you are being spoilt..

Today the DT of Sir Stampalot are showing the 2nd lot of cards for the month, this time using the 2nd kit we were sent.
A Krafty Affair - DP is My Minds Eye Kraft Funday, hinges TH cut on Coredinations, WRM cord, gems and button all available from Sir Stampalot(seam binding is from Pretty Little Ribbons)

The image on this one is Cairn Terrier from A Passion for Stamps which I've coloured with Promarkers.
I've done a bit of inking around the edges, which is quite unusual for me but I thought it suited this card.

This is the prize for this month's challenge!!

It will be Sir Stampalot Challenge Blog's 2nd birthday on April 1st and we have something special planned,
 so watch this space!!

Alstroemeria

I'm sure you know it's Mother's Day tomorrow  ( I hope my 2 sons know!). Well...I had my 2 cards made but early this morning I jumped up out of bed and decided to make a different one for my mother. She loves flowers so I used my new digi image -  Alstroemeria - found HERE with my others at A Passion for Stamps.
I coloured it with Promarkers and set to work with my Tonic Studios punches.

I also made a little corner bookmark to match

I've shown some of the steps in making the card below .

1. Make a card blank by scoring and folding an A4 piece of card and then folding back a section of the front panel at 4.5 cm.

2. Cut a strip of white card measuring 4cm x 21cm and punch along the edge with the Tonic Studios Simplicity  Geared Butterfly Border  Punch.

3. Cut a strip of deep pink card measuring 2.5cm x 21cm and adhere this behind  the butterfly strip.

4. Adhere this piece to the left edge of the front panel.

5. Cut a panel measuring 9.5cm x 21cm, emboss and adhere to the card front behind the Butterfly strip.

6. Colour digi image and cut out using the OUTSIDE of the smallest size  of Tonic Studios  Oval Shape Mates

7. Using the INSIDE of the next largest size of Oval Shape Mate, cut out an oval of  deep pink card

8. Adhere the image on top of the pink card and then  cut a piece of white card  measuring 4.5cm x  21 cm , emboss this and stick it to the turned back part of the card front

9. Using the same Oval Shape Mate as for the pink card ,cut out  half of an oval using the cutter  on the OUTSIDE of the oval.

10. Use the Butterfly Border punch upside down, punch around the semi oval

NB You can line the punch up by just leaving a little gap to the side of the last punch shape as shown in the picture

Add this behind the oval and stick to the card front.

I have added some double butterflies which I made using the Tonic Studios Multi Detail Butterfly punch and the Medium Butterfly punch

I created "corners" for the inside of the card by trimming the Multi Detail Heart punch to fit and embossing it with Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots folder.

You'll find many more examples of cards using Tonic Studios products on Blog Tonic - see you there!

Skateboard Star

Good morning!
It seems like ages since I posted a card here...but it's only 8 days! I have been busy finishing things which I had started and left to one side so I thought I'd share this one with you.

The image is Pip Skateboarding which you'll find HERE on A Passion for Stamps. I've coloured him with Promarkers and then used a combination of Tonic Studios Star punches to decorate.

The lovely border was made using the Tonic Studios Stars Border Punch and is a great design for a Christmas,Congratulations,or any male card.
The large stars are from the Multi Detail Star Punch and the tiny ones are Star Mini Punch.

There are lots of different 3D projects which can be made using the Multi Detail Star ...so keep an eye on the blog and these will be added in due course.

BTW - I love my new watermark/signature for my cards! Thanks a million, Mark :)

Lily of the Valley

Good morning. The weekend has just flown by as usual and I only just  remembered to take a quick photo of this card before it "left home" with some others.
The Lily of the Valley digi image is from A Passion for Stamps, as usual, and is coloured with Promarkers. The diecut is by Nellie Snellen.
This time I've teamed up my new Up, Up and Away (First Edition) paper with some from My Mind's Eye.
I just couldn't resist the Tonic Studios Vine Border which I used on my "Pups in a Basket"  Birthday card (2 posts ago) but this time I think it's more effective because I've punched it in white and added it over a plainer background. I've used the Pansies Accent Punch with the Corner wings to place the corner flowers exactly in the 4 corners and added the Mini Butterfly punch to the side edges of the patterned  paper.

Don't forget that there is a giveaway on Blog Tonic at the moment for a set of Petal Pairs Petites. These are amazing punches and if you nip over to the blog you'll see lots of examples of how they can be used.

Sir Stampalot DT card

It's time for the March challenge at Sir Stampalot and things are a bit different this month. There will be two DT projects in March, but you only get to see one today...........you will be able to see the second batch of DT work on 18th March when we will also be sharing a bit of exciting news with you.

Now for this months challenge. A few weeks ago the DT received two kits and were asked to come up with something using each. The kits for each challenge were pretty much identical, the DPs' and ribbons varied a little but are all from the same family and as usual, everyone came up with something different.

Pearls and Swirls - DP is Alla Prima, swirls TH tattered swirl, card blank cut on Nesties Labels 23, plus bottons, ribbon and pearls and everything available from Sir Stampalot.
The digi image is, of course, my own drawing - Two Roses which is available from A Passion for Stamps.
I've coloured the image with Promarkers....Satin and Marsh Green.

So, without further ado..this month's challenge is
***Take inspiration***

.............from any of the DT's pieces of work or the kit itself. You can make anything you like and choose where you take your inspiration from........... perhaps some of the kit colours, pearls and swirls, or maybe one of the DT card designs and go with your own colours. All we ask is that you remember to tell us in your post which it is and of course follow the rules up top.

And the prize is...............a surprise!!

Don't forget to have a look at the rest of the DT's cards and join in so you can be in with a chance of winning.

Pups in a Basket

I had a card to make for a friend who was having a "big" birthday and, as she's very fond of dogs, I thought I'd use my Pups in Basket" digi image from A Passion for Stamps along with a new paper pad I bought (Up, Up and Away ; First Edition Paper) and hadn't opened yet...
I coloured the image with Promarkers and used a Spellbinders Scalloped Circle Nestability. The embossing folder is D'vine Swirls by Cuttlebug .
I've used two sizes of Tonic Studios Petal Pairs for the little flowers at the top and added gems in the middle.
The lovely border was made using the Tonic Studios Vine Border punch

I wasn't too sure if she really wanted everyone to know her age so I've added it on the insert....

Anyhow I didn't add too many "extras" to this one as the paper is "busy" and the embossing folder is quite patterned too and I didn't want to overdo it.
