Using Tonic Studios Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens (affiliate)

Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens are available in beautiful colours in sets of 3 and there are also Shimmer Pens and Water Brushes to complement the set. The fine nylon tip is suitable not only for detailed colouring and calligraphy but also for freestyle water colouring and creating backgrounds.
You can buy the pens from Tonic Studios using my affiliate links here

Card 1

To make this card you will need-
Craft Perfect 6x6 Bright White card blank
Craft Perfect Bright White Smooth Card
Aqua Flow Pens - Arabian Nights and Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss
Tonic Studios Decorative Duo Sentiment dies 2535e
Gold Luxe Dream Drops
Deckle Torn Edge Trimmer

How to make the card -

1. Cut a 13cm square of white card with the Deckle Edge Torn Edge trimmer and scribble the Aqua Flow Pens across it as shown.

2. Take a piece of white card and colour with the French Wine pen. Die cut the backing plate for the sentiment. Die cut the sentiment from white card and glue onto the background.

3. Cut a 14cm square with the Deckle Torn Edge Trimmer and colour the edges with the same pen.

4. Die cut the main die and glue to the card, with the sentiment topper on top.
Add Glitter Gloss Aqua Shimmer into the floral detail at the top right. Finish by adding Gold Luxe dream Drops

Card 2

In the card below I have used the same pens as above and also Blush Rosette Aqua Shimmer.
I have used the Celebration Sentiments Header dies.

I used a US A6 card and painted the border of a 14cm x 8.5cm rectangle of white card with the Cinnamon Stick pen.

I painted the flowers freehand and added some Blush Rosette Aqua Shimmer to the leaves. Then I added some Gold Luxe Dream Drops to finish.

Tonic Studios Glitter Markers - 4 ways on 1 card! (affiliate)

If you're new to Nuvo Glitter Markers from Tonic Studios, you're really going to enjoy trying out various different ways of using them! They are water based markers so you can use them as a pen for drawing, calligraphy or colouring stamped images (both directly onto the stamp or for colouring the stamped mage) but you can also add varying amounts of water for cool effects!

These are my affiliate links to the Glitter Markers

These are my affiliate links to the On Your Special Day Layering Die Set

They can be bought singly or in pack of 3.

They can be used for calligraphy.

I have used them in four different ways on this card.
I have created a border by colouring straight onto the card in a strip all round the edge, coloured onto a glass mat, spritzed with water and dipped the card into it for the multi coloured background, coloured the die cut sentiment and used a water brush to paint the die cut butterflies.

To make this card you will need -

Craft Perfect 6x6 card blank
Craft Perfect Bright White Smooth Card
Glitter Markers - Northern Lights and Midnight Shadows
Nuvo Aqua Brush
Tonic Studios On Your Special Day Layering die set
small butterfly die (I used one from Craft Kit 29)
sequins
Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive

                                                                       How to make it -
1. Scribble some glitter markers onto your glass mat.

2. Spritz with water.

3. Cut a 13cm square of white card and press into the spritzed glitter marker ink. Leave to dry.

4. Die cut with the die shown from the On Your Special Day set.

5. Cut a 14cm square of white card and draw a 0.6mm border around the edge with the glitter marker.

6. Glue the layers together and attach to the card front.

7. Die cut the sentiment from the set and colour the wording with the Glitter Markers.

8. Die cut 2 butterflies. Scribble some glitter marker ink onto a glass mat, the use your aqua brush to watercolour the die cuts, allowing the ink to blend together with the water.

9. Die cut the frame for the sentiment and glue these together onto the card. Attach the butterflies but the bodies and fold the wings back.

10. Add random sequins to finish the card.

From my FB post yesterday...
It's Day 3 of Craft Month and Tonic are asking folks to share a pic of their favourite product. Well, mine has got to be my Tonic Tangerine die cutting machine. I've had this from they were trialled. In fact this one has been through its paces in several places at craft shows before it arrived with me. It's a proper work horse of a machine and I use it almost all day, every day and it has travelled all over Ireland to demos with me too. It's sturdy and cuts perfectly every time which is why I've never used another machine since I got this one.
I couldn't join in yesterday as I was so busy all day and evening and I couldn't share anything that I was working on as it was all for upcoming releases etc in a few weeks' time.

Tonic Studios Nuvo Expanding Mousse (affiliate)

Tonic Studios have a March Mousse Madness Sale on for the rest of this month. These are my affiliate links if you'd like to have a look :) 🛒UK - https://bit.ly/3bd1PFF 🛒USA - https://bit.ly/2MImojQ

Nuvo Expanding Mousse is applied to your projects in much the same way as the Embellishment Mousse but the big difference is that it expands to give amazing texture when you use a heat gun on it.

It dries with a sheen if left alone but becomes matt and puffy after heating and can be used with stencils or applied with a spatula and used as the focal point of a card.
I really enjoyed making these two cards and I hope you'll give it a try if you haven't already used it :)

Card 1 (with the Butterfly Background Stencil )
You will need
Craft Perfect US A2 white card
Butterfly Background Stencil
white card
maroon red card
Red Leather, Bramley Apple and Worn Linen Expanding Mousse
black ink
small stamp
glitter card
sentiment dies (I used Dream from kit 35)
Dream Drops - Cloud 9

1. Tape a piece of card to your glass mat and apply the Red Leather, Worn Linen and Bramley Apple Mousses through the stencil with a spatula. Carefully remove the stencil.

2. This will reveal the sheen on the wet mousse.

3. Activate the mousse with a heat gun to create the matt textured affect.

4. Trim the panel to  9.25cm x 12.75cm and ink around the edges. Layer onto a 9.75cm x 13.25cm piece of glitter card. Attach to the card front. Stamp or add inked areas in the white spaces and add Dream Drops. Die cut the sentiment and layer together. Attach to the card with 3D foam pads.

Card 2 (Freestyle Texture)
You will need
Craft Perfect US A2 white card
white card
Aubergine purple card
Expanding Mousse - Worn Linen and Misted Mauve
Prickly Pear Pure Sheen Glitter
Dream Drops - Cloud 9
foam pads

1. Tape a 10cm x 13cm piece of white card to your work surface.

2. Apply the two colours of mousse and sprinkle with glitter.

3. Carefully remove the tape and create the texture with the heat gun.

4. Attach to the card front and add the sentiment and Dream Drops.
(I used the Dream sentiment from kit 35)
