Pointy basket tutorial

This is a quick photo tutorial showing how to make the basket in the photo above. This one was made with a 12 x 12 sheet of double sided paper fro the Trimcraft Wild Flowers paper pad and I've decorated it with a loop of ribbon, border die cuts, die cut nesting blooms and pearls.

I've used 8x8 paper for the tutorial.

1. Fold in quarters.

 2. Score and fold diagonally from both sides.

 3. Turn over and fold each corner into the centre.

 4. Turn over again and fold each corner into the centre.

 5. Turn over so that there are 4 squares showing.

 6. Push your fingers and thumb into the centre and push towards the outside.

 7. Keep pushing outwards until it can stand alone.

 8. Add a loop of ribbon in the centre and decorate as you wish :)

 This is a set of little boxes which I made with Tonic Studios recent Dimensions launch.I cut the boxes out with white card and used gold satin sheen to contrast. You can see each one in more detail below.

Cardmaking and Papercraft issue 169 (May)

 In answer to your question - this is the back of the ballerinas when the acetate strips have been glued on.

 The strip are pushed through the slits in the card.

Lift the tab which pushes through the long slit in the back of the card and fold flat.

 A selection of cards and bags which I made at my demo on Saturday - apologies for the quality of the photos. I never seem to be able to get good photos in shop lighting :(

I was using Trimcraft's beautiful Sweet Nothings and Wild Flowers papers with First Edition dies etc.

Thanks to everyone who joined me in Fagans Mullingar on Saturday. I only remembered to take photos briefly at this stage but really appreciate all the others who came later and in the afternoon :) As always there was a lovely friendly atmosphere and I really enjoyed myself - I hope you did too! Thanks too, to Breda and Shauna for organising it and keeping things running so smoothly :)

Hello :) We had a lovely day off yesterday and took a trip to Newcastle and the Mournes. It was quite cold and windy but spring was definitely in the air. I wish we could have those days more often..

Anyhow, this is a card which I made with the Trimcraft "Sweet Nothings" paper and I've also incorporated some Plaid Concrete paint into the centre panel.

...and just a reminder - I'll be deoming in Fagan's, Mullingar on Saturday from 11.00am - 1.00pm and 2.00pm - 4.00pm :)

Tonic Studios - Dot and Drop

Hello :) I hope you are enjoying a little bit of spring sunshine wherever you are. My card today has been made using the recent Tonic Studios Entwined Dot and Drop die with Strawberry Coulis Jewel Drops on top. The flowers have been die cut using the Sunburst Gazania die set and I've added flourishes from the same set..The background shapes were made with the Sunray Venus Layering dies and the white patterned die cut at the base has been made with two of the dies from the Tangled Terrace Window Box die set.

Adorable

 The 5x7 Flower Craft a Card die from Trimcraft is perfect for creating the pop out centre of this card. I've used it along with Trimcraft's Sweet Nothings paper, tag and weddings dies on the inside.

 I've used the Nesting Blooms, border and wedding dies on the front of the card. The greeting is cut from  the paper pad.

Dance stage card - TUTORIAL

I've made this little stage scene card with the beautiful First Edition "Sweet Nothings" papers from Trimcraft along with some of their new dies.

You will need;

How to make it:

1. Cut an A4 sheet of white card to 28cm length and, using the template above, score and fold where shown.

2. Cut a piece of peach patterned paper measuring 15.25cm x 10.75cm and attach over the opening with double sided tape.

3. Flip the card over, fold the "stage" part outwards and remove the paper from the aperture using a steel ruler and sharp craft knife. Reserve this piece for stage 4. 

4. Cut a piece of wood effect paper measuring 6cm x 11cm and glue to the "stage floor" then fold this piece back and tuck the 1cm folded part into the slit in the back of the card.  Use the piece of paper which you removed in stage 3 and glue it to above the part you have just tucked in.

5. Cut 2 strips of peach paper measuring 2cm x 11cm and one measuring 2cm x 20.5cm.  Cut 2 strips of patterned paper measuring 1.5cm x 10.5cm and 1 measuring  1.5cm x 20cm.

6. Layer and glue to the card as shown.

7. Die cut the ballet pumps, Dance and ballerinas from white card (3 of the wide dresses) and also the Dance from peach paper.

8. Layer the 3 ballerinas together with 3D foam pads.

9. Cut narrow strips of  acetate and glue to the backs of the ballerinas so that there is at least 2.5cm extra on the ends.

10. Make tiny slits in the "stage floor" where you want to position the ballerinas and push the acetate through.

11. Offset the two Dance die cuts and glue to the bottom of the stage. Glue the ballet pumps to the right side. Die cut another larger ballet dancer and glue to the front left. Die cut a border and glue across the top.

12. Die cut the heart bunting in white card and floral paper. 

13. Cut off the floral hearts and glue (with a slight offset) on top of the white hearts. Add to the bottom of the card on 3D foam pads.

14. Add ivory pearls to finish.
