Merry and Bright Tonic Studios Craft Kit 23

If you haven't seen Tonic Studios Craft Kit 23, have a little look at my new video on
YouTube to see a close up of everything you'll find inside and a full video of how to make up this 3d card using the kit. You can see it here - https://youtu.be/EKzcj_4k82Y
It's called "Merry and Bright" so no surprise that it's the first Christmas kit!

Oasis of Roses - Tonic Studios

An early card this morning as I've another busy day ahead. I'm not sure that the photo does this one justice but the pink and silver together were beautiful in the morning light.
I've used the Oasis of Roses, and Butterfly Whirl dies with the Craft Perfect Silver Damask A4 card and Mint Blush 6x6 pad - all from Tonic Studios.
I think this could be used for wedding stationery..

With Love - Tonic Studios

I'm not sure what the weather is like where you are but it's anything but summer-like here. The only good thing is it's perfect for crafting.
I have even started on my Christmas creations!
Back to today, though....
This card is made with the Tonic Studios Array of Hearts sleeve die set and part of the With Love Decorative Duo die set. The paper came with this month's Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine. I've only added some Nuvo Crystal Gems because the paper and dies are already quite ornate.
Hope you have a lovely weekend :)

Folk Art Marbling Paint flowers and background - Plaid

I can't get enough of the gorgeous Folk Art Marbling Paint from Plaid. The flow/pouring medium is already incorporated in it so you can create lots of different results with it as well as the more obvious marbling effect. I've blown the paint into petal shapes here with a straw.

You can see some other ideas here -

You will need
a canvas

spatula
a straw
cocktail stick

 1. Cover the complete canvas with white marbling paint.

 2. Streak some Blue MP across the canvas with a spatula.

 3. Add a thick line of Aqua MP across the top of the canvas.

 4. Drag the Aqua paint from the top of the canvas with a piece of dampened kitchen roll.

5. After dragging down the paint.

 6. Add dots of Blue Marbling Paint and blow into petal shapes with a straw. Add Sour Apple stems and leaves with a cocktail stick. Add Aqua and Yellow detail in the centres of the flowers.

Folk Art Marbling Paint Flower - Plaid Crafts

Another flower canvas - Folk Art Marbling Paint from Plaid Crafts puddles blown into petal shapes with a straw. The background is white marbling paint dragged over pink with damp kitchen roll. This should come with a warning as it's very addictive! ☺️
The Marbling Paint already has a pouring medium incorporated so you can use it for projects like this straight from the bottle.

Pebeo mixed media

I only realised  after I posted the photo of the tiny shells in resin, that I hadn't posted any photos of my other experiments with Pebeo.
I'm pretty new to this type of thing but have been watching ooodles of videos online and am so happy that I'm not only able to play with it but once I'm up to speed, I'll be demoing as well.
These are my very first pieces where I was just trying out the couple of samples I was given initially. It's amazing to watch the process develop before your eyes!

I thought it worked well on card too, so I used the same products as a background :)

You can see my initial experiments with these effects below/

I do like to be beside the seaside...(resin)

This is a really simple resin piece. I just wanted to capture the tiny shells inside a larger shell to look like they were permanently in water. I've mixed a tiny drop of turquoise Vitrail and Glitter Medium to the crystal resin and embedded the shells in it. The mediums used are all from Pebeo. I'm looking forward to experimenting more soon.

Marbling Paint with Balloon painted background - Plaid Crafts

I spent a lot of time over the weekend experimenting with different paint effects etc.I created the background of this canvas using a small balloon dipped in puddles of Folk Art Marbling Paint. After it had dried I stencilled random images from a beautiful new stencil (Modern Folk 39254) with white and Teal Topaz Metallic Multi Surface Paint - all from Plaid Crafts.

Crepe Paper Flowers

I started this last night too and have just finished it.
Made with Canson crepe paper - stretches beautifully

Paint "dragging" - Folk Art Marbling Paint from Plaid Crafts

Another experiment - dragging puddled Folk Art Marbling Paint (Plaid Crafts) with bubblewrap. I like it but think I'd keep the background flat next time
The pouring medium is already in the Marbling Paint so you have no measuring and mixing to do

Creating backgrounds - Folk Art Marbling Paint - Plaid Crafts

I spent a while last night creating various backgrounds for projects and loved how the Folk Art Marbling Paint from Plaid Crafts turned out after dragging waxed paper over it -no muddying.

Cardmaking and Papercraft - July 2019 issue197

I just received my copy of the July issue of Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine(no. 197) so it will be in the shops very soon. It's such a summery mag this time! The free gift is a beautiful set of Gemini dies (Crafter's Companion UK) and 28 designer papers. One of my commissions this month is a set of cards and matching gift box made using the dies and papers together. I have also made a set of quick cards with the StickerKitten Unicorn Fairground collection. The other free papers inside have gingham and strawberry patterns...my summer favourites!

Get Well - Tonic Studios

It's pouring here today again! Good thing I'm only looking out at it through my craft room window
I made this with the Tonic Studios Rainbow Rose Edge dies, Get Well Sentiment Strip dies, Pink Chiffon Satin Effect Craft Perfect Card and Nuvo Crystal Gems

Secret Garden - Happy Birthday!

Another card today with the Dovecraft "Secret Garden" collection from Trimcraft.
I've used the little bird die on the patterned paper and think it looks cute inside the frame.

#youareloved Happy You (Trimcraft)

#youareloved! One reason to smile this morning
This is another card I made with the Dovecraft Premium "Happy you" collection from Trimcraft. I love the Glitter Alphabet Stickers (see my last card) but this time I've only used the #

The rose gold buttons just "pop" against the photos frame and background paper :)
