Surprise Present

Just a quickie....
This is Surprise Present from my Christmas digi collection, agian using the PapercraftPlanet sketch for this week.
Challenges
Stamp, Scrap and Doodle ....monochromatic
Passion for Promarkers ....anything goes
Top Tip Tuesday  ...Christmas inspired

Happy Birthday (Parrot)

I think I'm on a roll with the sketch from  Papercraftplanet  this week! It's so simple for cards when you're in a hurry. Just as well I had coloured some of my digis a while ago when I was trying out some of my new colours of Promarkers. I think I'll try to keep a stock in future..
The image is Parrot, one of a series of birds I drew a while ago and I use these quite a lot on cards for men. This card is for a lovely gentleman who is 91 today and has been a great support lately while we have had various illnesses in the family.
The paper is actually from a Christmas range but I just love the colour and thought it suited the parrot.I've used Glossy Accents on the beak but it is not showing up too well in the photo.
I'm entering the Passion for Promarkers challenge AGAIN with this one!!

Out in the cold!

I was making some very quick cards tonight with some images which I'd previously coloured and this is the last of the batch..It's one of my images called Winter Window and I've previously coloured it in blues but went back to "Christmas colours" for this one. As soon as the glitter dries it will be winging its way off to friends in Hong Kong and I hope it arrives on time.
I've used the sketch at PaperCraftPlanet again as it suited the shape of the image and I'm also entering it into the challenge at Digital Tuesday...sparkling Christmas and Top Tip Tuesday....Christmas inspired.

A little red robin!

I've just made a card for my mother and it's a bit different from my usual "over-embellished" style...I keep looking at it and wondering if I could add something else but have left it as it is because the glitter paper is quite "loud" enough..
I followed the sketch from this week's sketch at PapercraftPlanet and used my digi Robin and house..It's been coloured with Promarkers and I added Deco snow writer and some glitter.
I have embossed 2 Marianne Creatable die cuts with my Swiss Dots embossing folder and used them as a frame before mounting this on glitter paper.
I'm still not too sure about the empty space and if I don't get it into an envelope soon it will be covered in swirls etc!!
The challenges for this one are
Passion for Promarkers...mega Christmas
Daring Cardmakers.....Snow much fun
Allsorts...Last minute Christmas
Stamp with Fun...Christmas
The Pink Elephant.... Winter Wonderland

I think that's it!

All Wrapped Up (red and cream)

I've nearly finished making my Christmas cards at last! So, in another few days, I'll be putting all the Christmas bits and bobs all in a big box for another year.
Anyhow, tonight's card is another using  All Wrapped Up which can be found over at A Passion for Stamps with the rest of my digi images. The paper is from the Kars Christmas Collection and is layered onto glitter paper.
The sentiment is computer generated and I managed to punch ONE snowflake from the glitter paper. I say ONE because I can't get the punch through the glitter paper again for some reason.
The Promarkers I've used this time are Ruby, Satin,Ice Grey 3 and Black and I've used Papermania glitter glue on the fur of the Santa hat.

The challenges this time are ;
Digital Tuesday ...Baby, it's cold outside!
Passion for Promarkers ...mega Christmas challenge
Creative Card Crew ....anything goes
Truly Scrumptious ....the sketch
ABC ....J is for Jewels
Frosted Designs ....Ribbon
Alphabet Challenge ....G is for Glitter
Stamp Something ....Decamber Digi Day ( A Passion for Stamps)
Craft Your Days Away ....punch it out

I'm sure I'll be back in a day or two with the remaining Christmas cards. In the meantime I need to get as much done for Christmas as possible as I am just starting my shopping next week!

Christmas Puppy

Another Christmas card! This time it's Christmas Puppy I've used. It's another one of my own digis and is coloured with Promarkers.I have a few friends who are dog lovers and this is one of the images I drew with this in mind. I found a little die cut stocking in my stash and thought it looked good with the one in the image so I added it to the centre of the circle sentiment my son made for me (after I twisted his arm!)
This card is for the following challenges..
Mojo Monday....  the sketch
Stamp Something ...Christmas colours
A Spoonfull of Sugar ....Christmas card
Stampavie..   Christmas card
Passion for Promarkers.... Anything goes

I think that's it for now but I hope to be back soon with another.

Christmas Candle

2nd post of the day!! Well, my last card was a DT card so I made it a while ago!!
This is another Christmas card featuring one of my new digis. It's called Christmas Candle and I drew it last week to add to my collection. I've coloured it with Promarkers and added glossy accents and glitter.

I think I should mention, for the benefit of any Belfast bloggers, that the papers, dies and Promarkers used on this card were all bought at my favourite craft shop ...Forget Me Not , in Pottinger's Entry in Belfast.
I love going there to have a browse and a chat with Stephanie, the owner, who is really helpful and has a fantastic stock and great ideas.

 The challenges this time are
Papertake... the sketch
Allsorts....light up the night, must have a candle
Alphabet... F is for foliage
ABC Christmas challenge....Y is for Yuletide

Crafty Calendar Challenge

Good morning from the still snowy Northern Ireland!!  We have had even more snow and there is no sign of a thaw. My younger son had his Biology field trip cancelled on Monday because of the white stuff! Actually we had packed up over the weekend and safely delivered him to school where he (and around 45 other 16 year olds) sat for 20 mins before he was told that the trip was postponed until....................March!!
Our older son had booked his driving test for Wednesday and I thought that it would be cancelled too, but he actually not only did the test, but PASSED!!
Okay, now onto the card. This month's card for the Crafty Calendar Challenge follows a sketch by DT member, Fern and the added option is "Christmas". I am sponsoring the challenge with a prize from A Passion for Stamps and the DT have made their cards using some of my images.
My card uses the "Santa" image and I used black and white DP to set the image off.I've added lots of Papermania glitter glue too.
I'm entering this card into the challenge at
Tuesday Taggers  ....Santa Claus
Totally Papercrafts....Christmas punches

Bunny in Stocking!

Another new digi! Anyone who knows me knows how much I love rabbits. I had a fantastic little dwarf Dutch lop eared rabbit called Thumper for 7 years and he was my little buddy! So when I was drawing this stocking, I just had to draw a little rabbit inside! You can find the new digi at A Passion for Stamps along with some other Christmas images.
I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers. It also suits One Stop where the theme is "Christmas cuties".
As there is no red or green, it also is suitable for the challenge atTotally Papercrafts.
I'm also entering it as a 2nd card for Passion for Promarkers as I've used my "old" border punch again and my NEW image.
The snowflakes mean I can enter the Stampavie challenge , the stars are for the Paperplay challenge and I can enter the card into the challenge at Digital Tuesday where they are looking for "animals at Christmas" (digi)

I'm off to do some more drawing now, see you soon! Have a little look at the other new digis I added to the collection at A Passion for Stamps if you have a moment.I'll be adding some cards I made with them soon, Ruth :)

Winter Church

Good morning from snowy Northern Ireland! It's absoultely beautiful looking here this morning....I just don't want to go out in it!! Anyway, my boots are at the door ready and waiting!
I had to upload a winter scene card !
This one features Winter Church which is one of my Christmas images over at A Passion for Stamps.
I made a frame from the negative left from a Marianne Creatable die and Cuttlebug corner dies. I added lots of Papermania glitter glue to the Swiss Dots embossing but I'm not sure if they show up too well in the photo.
I'm entering it into the following challenges..
ABC ...I is for ice/snow
Alphabet ...E is for embossing
Crafty Catz ..Christmas
Crafty Creations Christmas is coming
Digital Tuesday  ....Let it snow
Passion for Promarkers Old and new.....(old, Swiss dots folder and new, Marianne Creatable die)

See you soon, Ruth :)

Columbine in Pastel

I suppose it seems a bit odd to make a card with a Columbine on it in the middle of all this snow....but I made this for a group challenge over on PapercraftPlanet and while I don't always add them to my blog I thought I'd upload this one for a change. I haven't made this shape of a card for a while but it was needed to suit the challenge.
The image is Columbine from A Passion for Stamps and is still selling well despite the weather!
I've used Papermania Regency paper and Marianne Creatable dies along with Cuttlebug corner dies and Woodware flower punches. The flower is coloured with Promarkers.
It also suits Everybody Art ....shapes
and Papertake ....Cut it out!

Baby Boy

Back again! This time to show you a card I made for friends who have just had a beautiful baby boy called Zac.
I used my own digi again ( Sailing boat from A Passion for Stamps ) and got a little bit carried away adding bits and bobs. I love gingham for baby cards and because I wanted to add so many little "things" I kept the colour scheme simple. It's not that often I'm really happy with a finished card but I loved this one in real life!
I used Blue Pearl and Powder blu Promarkers for the boat and water and paper pieced the sails to match the background paper.
I wanted to personalise it so I used Monde de Blonde Sizzix alphabet dies in my Cuttlebug and added the letters to some hand cut "bunting".
It suits some challenges so here they are...

Stampavie.... monochrome
Alphabet .... D is for Doodling
Crazy4Challenges ....Circles

Get Well Soon, Iris

I've taken a little break from making Christmas cards to stock up on Get Well cards. I always try to keep a box of them handy but because I haven't had much time to make cards lately, my little store has dried up!!
I've also been wanting to join in with the Fairymoon challenge so I used their sketch this week. The challenges over there are just getting off the ground so nip over and join in if you get a chance!
The image I've used is "Iris"  (one of my own from A Passion for Stamps ) and suits Get Well , Happy Birthday, Thinking of You and even Sympathy cards etc.
The other challenges I'm entering are
Crafty Catz.... Get Well Soon
Daring Cardmakers ...."We 3...."  Diamantes
Stamp with Fun ....Square

A little update for those who've been asking...my brother has had his operation and has been very sick this week with complications and he has an infection now. He has not been well at all but is feeling a bit better today. He will have a long road to recovery but we pray that he will soon be on the mend and back home again.

Old Austin

Before I get to the card...I'm just reminding you about my PROMARKER GIVEAWAY..
It ends on Sat 25thSeptember.

Now to the card!
This is one I made for a lovely, elderly gentleman friend and I put a lot of thought into it.
I drew the Old Austin image especially for him and put his initials and year of birth on the number plate.
The maps are significant too as they show where he was born, educated and where he lives now so I highlighted those places with red gems. It certainly brought back a lot of memories when I gave him the card!!
Sometimes after I spend ages on a card it isn't what I intended but, for once, I am happy with how it turned out!
Places of note
Glossy accents on the glass and lights

I see, too, that it fits with the theme of this week's Cupcake Craft challenge which is Transport.
I can also enter it into A Spoonfull of Sugar ....anything goes
and Corrosive...unused stash....the maps which I've had for ages but not used yet

And another thing, I have now got a replacement Martha Stewart doily border punch and am very pleased with the service!!

New Puppy

It's pouring here in Northern Ireland today and the best place to be is in your craft room!
I've made another easel card  this time with my "new Puppy" digi image which is available from A Passion for Stamps. I didn't actually intend to use this image on a Christmas card but when I started to colour it I was drawn to reds and greens and picked out Papermania Jesse Edwards Boutique paper. Towards the end of the card I decided to add some snowflakes because I thought they would look well.
I've added some Papermania glitter glue to the collar and cuffs  and also to the snowflakes.
The background "frame" is the negative from a Marianne Creatables die cut  and the swirls are from the same set.
It's coloured with Promarkers and I used them to colour the gems too (ruby)
Close up of snowflakes
Promarkers used on this card

I'm entering it into the folowing challenges
Allsorts.... at least 3 punches
Fussy and fancy...Christmas colours
Alphabet challenge..U is for unused stash (Jesse Edwards paper)
Moving along with the Times.....Christmas

Don't forget to check out my PROMARKER GIVEAWAY in the post above. It will be open until 25th of September.
