Guest Design Team card by Mel!

MELZ CARD

I've been waiting with baited breath to see the result since Mel very kindly agreed to make a card using one of my digi images.
Now, I don't need to tell you about Mel, because judging from the number of followers she has on her blog, there can't be anyone in blogland who doesn't know about her wonderful creations!
I've been following her blog for a good while now and each time she does a new posting I head straight over to see what treat is in store....and never cease to be amazed by the amount of detail she puts into her work. I've never seen one of her creations yet that hasn't left me in awe! I keep going back and finding more details I missed in the first view..Not only does she put great effort into her work but she adds the most detailed tutorials to help others try the same.
This card is no exception, I just love it and am so proud of what she has done with my digi image.

Introducing a new DT member!

THE CARD ABOVE IS KERRY'S DT CARD

Good evening! I'm really delighted to introduce my latest DT member Kerry.
Please have a look at her fantastic cards on her blog and you'll know right away why I wanted her!
For those of you who are also Docrafts members, you'll know this lovely lady as "Pickle".
Not only does she make the most gorgeous cards but is also an expert on all things technical, having spent much of the last few weeks helping all her friends adapt to the many changes on the Docrafts site. The new site has been like an assault course for most of us ,but Kerry has guided us all through the ropes and made it all seem so easy. I know for a fact that many folks would have left if not for her help. Now it's all running much more smoothly.
THANKS so much,again,Kerry!!!
Her 1st DT card is nothing less than wonderful and I can't wait to see what follows...

Crafty Calendar Challenge

Lots of important things happening today! A new government in the UK,my eldest son's last day at High school, and ....time for another Crafty Calendar Challenge!!
This month the theme is "the great outdoors" and the added option is "insects".
There are some fantastic cards on the challenge blog so why don't you pop over to have a look?
For my card I've used a drawing which I did ages ago and added a tree made from scallop Nestie dies. The paper is Basic Grey and I've coloured it with Promarkers.
Please try to join us for the challenge if you get time

I'm also entering it into the Paperplay challenge ...stamp + bling

Pippa

I hope everyone is enjoying their Bank Holiday. It's been a beautiful sunny day here in Northern Ireland, just a little chilly. That meant it was just a little too cold for gardening but just right for making cards!
Actually I spent most of the day having a real big clearout of our garage and just found time to make one card late in the afternoon.
There is a gorgeous photo for inspiration on the Basic Grey challenge this fortnight so I used it to show off some lovely Basic Grey paper sent to me by Martine a while ago.
I followed the sketch at Mojo Monday but I rotated it to suit.
I've also made it for a friend and entered it into the Stamp with Fun challenge and for
Cutie Stampers...flowers
Oh Alice!..card for a child
Last, but not least, the image I've used is "Pippa" from my recent digi release which you'lll find here.
That's it for now,
See you soon. Ruth

Lilac roses

I had a little free time for crafting today and, as I usually seem to be in a rush,I decided to try something a little different for me.
As you can see from the photos below,I made my own backing paper by colouring with a Whispers brush marker onto a plate, spraying with a little water and pressing the paper onto it. When it had dried, I ran it through the Cuttlebug in a Victoria folder and used it as a background for my "two roses" digi image.
Usually my cards have lots of pattern so I've tried to make the last few a bit plainer for a change to show off the image better.
The image is from my own collection A Passion for Stamps and I've coloured it with Promarkers.

I'm entering it for the following challenges,
EverybodyArt...song title..Paper Roses!
A Spoonfull of Sugar...3D
