How to make a gatefold card with folded inside - Dad

The new Grand Plans paper pads from Trimcraft are perfect for making cards for males and I've used them in this project to create a Father's Day card.

 You will need:
Dovecraft 6 x 6 Trifold card
Trimcraft First Edition Premium Dyed Textured Cardstock (12 x 12)
Trimcraft First Edition Grand Plans paper pads (6 x 6 and 12 x 12)
Trimcraft First Edition Alphabet Bunting dies
Trimcraft First Edition Bunting dies
Trimcraft First Edition Tag dies
double sided tape
3D foam squares
Dovecraft Crafters Glue

die cutting machine

How to make it:
 1. Open the trifold card and score at 5cm from each side of the centre panel. Fold both of these scorelines upwards.

2. Cut the pieces of plain card and patterned paper to the sizes shown.

3. Layer the pieces on top of each other with double sided tape and attach to the card.

 4. Cut a piece of blue card measuring 8.5cm x 8.5cm and attach to a piece of white card measuring 9cm x 9cm. Glue the centre back of this to the centre of the card. Die cut the bunting from white card and the star bunting from patterned paper and glue the stars on top. Glue across the top of the blue panel. Die cut an oval tag and glue to the bottom right of the panel. Cut a cassette player from the
12 x 12 pad and glue to the left of the tag, overlapping slightly.

 5. Cut 2 pieces of blue card measuring 7.25cm x 14.5cm and 2 pieces of cloud paper measuring 6.75cm x 14cm. Glue the cloud paper onto  the blue card and attach to the card front with double sided tape.

6. Cut an 8.5cm square of blue card and attach to a 9cm square of white card. Glue the left side of this to the left side of the card front.

7. Die cut 3 bunting shapes from patterned paper and "Dad" from white card. Attach to the top of the panel with 3D foam squares. Cut out a T shirt  and drink container from the 12 x 12 paper and attach to  the card front using glue for the T shirt and 3D foam squares for the drink container.

Peacock and Flamingo cards

A couple more Craft a Card die cards today. This time I've used the 6x6 Flower die FEDIE170 with the Dovecraft Flamingo die (coloured with Promarkers). The gems are Simply Creative.

Congratulations - Dovecraft Baby Steps

Good morning :) I was hoping to do some gardening today but I've been rained off at the moment so I'm sharing a card I made a couple of weeks ago with the cute new Dovecraft "Baby Steps" collection from Trimcraft. I've also used the Trimcraft Nesting Doily and Bunting dies along with the Dovecraft Baby Pram die. The gems are Simply Creative.

Folk Art Extreme Glitter paint from Plaid

Another box of gorgeousness to try out. Glitter makes me so happy and Extreme Glitter makes me extremely happy! I can't wait to open these and try them out. Now, I wonder if anyone would notice if the laundry wasn't done....? Dust if you must, but I'd rather paint :)

Grand Plans papers from Trimcraft

Hello again :) This is one of my sample cards showing the brand new First Edition "Grand Plans" papers from Trimcraft. There are lots of elements which can be cut out from the pads to create collages as I've done in the card above. I folded a piece of 12 x 12 paper to form a pinwheel envelope.

Crawfordsburn Country Park, Co. Down yesterday

We're still doing our walks around the Co. Down coast whenever we get the chance and yesterday we went down to where we stopped the last time and ventured a bit further. As you can see from the sky, it was threatening to rain heavily so we didn't go as far as normal just in case.
The yellow irises looked beautiful against the dark background.

Right opposite Kilroot Power Station.

The hawthorn blossom scent filled the air

 Still some bluebells left

The Stena Line ferry heading  into Belfast harbour

I always want to see what's around the next corner...

I'm not sure what this is but a gentleman who was walking his dog said it was some kind of boundary marker on the edge of the Crawfordsburn Estate.

Plaid Barnwood Painted Finish

The two part Barnwood effect gives a really authentic aged look to unfinished wooden objects.
The stain is added first, the the wax is applied, Once the wax has been painted on, the excess is wiped off with a cloth and the object is scraped with a stick/plastic card to give the barnwood look.
I've used some mini Folk Art stencils from Plaid with Chalk Paint.

After I finished with the Barnwood effect, I added the light and dark Moss Painted Finish.
