Decoupage paper and glitter card

I was having a look at using some Trimcraft A5 Glitter Card with Decoupage papers and covered this little hexagonal box. I tore the paper into little pieces and attached to the sides of the box and the edges of the lid. Then I cut around the lid shape on glitter card and glued it on top. I've used one of the Christmas Basics wooden frames covered with the same decoupage paper and glued it to the lid with a glitter card bow  (from the Dovecraft Bow die) at the top.
The initials are from the Glitter Alphabet sticker sheets and I've used some Gold Glitter Glue around the edges of the lid to add definition against the box.
The best spot for getting good light when I was taking the photo was on the sofa between two big windows - but as you can see, someone else had hogged the spot and wasn't for moving :)

Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine issue 162 (November)

Good morning :) The latest issue of the Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine was delivered yesterday while I was lost under a pile of boxes in my craft room. Because I had almost barricaded myself in and couldn't climb out for a while I had to wait till last night to sat back with a cup of tea and enjoy the magazine. My commission this month is a set of 4 quick cards using the Dovecraft Winter Blooms collection and I hope you like them.

Demo at the Craft Cabin, Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan on Saturday (1st Oct)

This is another of my samples for my demo at the Craft Cabin, Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan on Saturday 1st October. The shop is celebrating its first anniversary so there will be plenty going on throughout the day :)

I've used Dovecraft Winter Blooms paper from Trimcraft along with Trimcraft ribon and Dovecraft dies.

94 today :)

Well, I can hardly believe my mum has just made it to her 94th birthday! Some of you will know that this is quite incredible after the scare she gave us all again several weeks ago, but here we are :) She's very weak but doing reasonably well at the moment.
Of course, she loves a hand made card...it's Bo Bunny "Butterfly Kisses" papers with Tonic Studios Ribbon and Bow Layering die set, leaves from the Autumnal Oak set, Mum (from the Family  die set 604e)  and Baldur Duo Cap Numerals dies

I seem to have got a new prop for my photos! Every time I bring the camera out now, Missy gets in the frame to pose :)

Winter foliage card - Tonic Studios

Good evening :) I made this at the end of last week but didn't get a chance to post a photo any sooner because I was away at the workshop on Saturday and had another hospital appointment today...it all takes time :)
Anyhow, Everything is "Tonic" on this card - the Modern Chevron embossing folder, Pine Leaf, Acorn Sprig, Pine Cone, Berry Sprig dies and Honey Gold Glitter Drops and Autumn Red Crystal Drops.

Workshop with John Bloodworth today in Portadown

I've just spent a lovely day in Portadown at a workshop run by John Bloodworth ( Gentleman Crafter ) in the company of some lovely ladies. I really admire John for the work he is doing to raise funds for MIND and for the effort he put into making it all so enjoyable. He gave us some expert advice on Gelli plate printing and deserves a medal for his diplomacy when I messed it up several times.

Thanks to Thelma and Lynn for organising the event - Thelma made the wonderful "Head" which she presented to John to raise more funds. A talented but very modest lady :)
Lovely to get spending the day "playing" with friends!

Double Envelope card - Trimcraft Christmas Promise papers and dies

There are just so many gorgeous patterns in this paper pad! It makes it difficult to decide what to use first so I thought I'd use several of the together in a double envelope style card with two card inserts and a band for around the outside.
I've used lots of different Trimcraft dies to embellish the cards and envelopes and I've listed them below the photos

Christmas Topper dies (and bow from the Christmas Gift die set)

Christmas Gift dies

Deer from the Christmas Die set

Star Nesting dies and greeting from  the Robin Build a Scene die set.

Demo at the Craft Cabin, Ballyconnell on Saturday 1st October

Hi :) My next demo will be at the Craft Cabin in Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan on Saturday 1st October from 11.00am - 4.00pm. I'll be demoing some Trimcraft Christmas ranges including the Dovecraft Christmas Basics collection used in the card above. I'll also be doing some stamping, decopage and using Plaid sheer paint.
This will be my first visit to this shop and I'm really looking forward to meeting new folks as well as some friends I made in the area before :)

A few photos from our trip to Co. Mayo

Some photos taken on the way to Castlebar and back home again.
I didn't know we had a castle! The castle ruins in the centre of Manorhamilton.

Plaid Painted Finishes - Rust

I've also had a play with the Plaid Rust finishes :)
I painted the little box with Plaid Folk Art Metallic Silver Chalk Paint then added the Light and Dark Rust Painted Finish. This is a very simple project to start with  - having seen how easy and effective it was I'm now thinking of a more feminine, less industrial item to paint.
