Seaside bottle - Plaid paints and Mod Melts

When I was experimenting with the lovely boxful of goodies which Plaid sent me a few weeks ago, I thought I'd like to make something which would show the contrast between the Folk Art Home Decor Chalk Paint and the Mod Podge Sheer Colours so I grabbed this Maple Syrup bottle and got started :)
I painted the bottom half with Sheer Blue, then mixed some Nautical and White Adirondack Chalk Paint and painted the top half. I added some Yellow Crochet mixed with Sheepskin as sand on the bottom and covered it with Extreme Glitter to replicate sand.
I used my new Mod Melter with High Temp Mod Melts in the Sea Life Mod Molds to create all the shapes which I attached to the bottle. I painted them with various colours of the Chalk Paint and added Extreme Glitter to the Seahorse and Starfish.

You can see the contrast in the Sheer Paint and Chalk Paint better at this angle.

Wild at Heart Vintage card

Each card I've made so far with the beautiful new Wild at Heart papers from Trimcraft has been in a completely different style - so that says something for the range of papers in the pads.
This time I've done a little distressing along the edges of the paper pieces to give a shabby chic/vintage feel and I've used as many different papers as possible from the pad as possible in the same colourway.

I hope you can see from this photo that I have also used some Trimcraft Foil Glue which I rubbed on with my fingers and then added a little Trimcraft Pewter Foil to highlight some areas. This really catches the light when you have the card in your hand :)

I've used the brand new Trimcraft First Edition Nature dies along with Simply Creative gems and  a little Dovecraft Glitter Glue on the flowers.

Wild at Heart Cityscape card Trimcraft

I had picked out the new Trimcraft "Buildings" dies to use with the new Wild at Heart papers and thought that a landscape layout with a cityscape theme would fit the bill for this.
I used Dovecraft 12 x 12 Colours paper pack for the layers behind the patterned paper,

The card opens out but the message area is still hidden behind the main panel.
I've used the Trimcraft Scalloped Circle dies behind the buildings to show them up better and added two shapes from the Transport die set.

Paradise Crush - Silhouette card (Trimcraft)

There's a lot going on on this card but I loved the way it all fits together. I've used the lovely Trimcraft First Crush papers (layered on to Dovecraft Colours papers) and added lots of die cuts using the brand new Trimcraft First Edition die sets.

The card front opens up to reveal a hidden panel where I've used the Heart, Silhouette and Scalloped Circle dies. Isn't that Flamingo paper gorgeous?

I used the Heart, Scalloped Circle and Nature dies on the front and added some Simply Creative gems and Dovecraft white 3D Enamel Effects.

Kinbane Head and Ballintoy, Co. Antrim

I took loads of photos of this next place we visited yesterday - Kinbane Head. Neither David nor I had ever walked, or should I say, climbed) down to the bottom of the cliff and up the rocks on the other side to the castle ruins before. The weather was fantastic by the time we reached this part of the road and it was a just a really quiet, tranquil and beautiful place to sit and enjoy after the climb.
The view from the top of the path at the car park

Look at the little canoes to the right of the cliffs to see the scale of the rocks.

The bottom of the path - just before the climb up the other side to the castle ruins

I spotted this wall from a distance and thought I'd like to sit on the low part and admire the view (or catch my breath!) but got a real shock when I realised there was a sheer drop on the other side - see below

The two men in the canoes had come ashore and were having a barbeque by the time we climbed down from the castle - they got me to take a photo of t hem with their phones so they could send it to their friends who were at work :)

 Best of company :)

Back down and on to Ballintoy

Spectacular little place - no wonder it is used so often for filming

Chilled out and enjoying the moment :)

Carnlough to Ballycastle

A few photos taken yesterday on an unplanned trip up the coast. Carnlough to Ballycastle.
Ulster Fry - a good start to the day in Carnlough :)

The road from Cushendall to Cushendun

 Cushendun

It started to rain heavily when we were walking along the river at Cushendun so we ran back to the car and headed up the road hoping the sun would be shining further on

There's something about this old tumbledown house on the road to Ballycastle that always makes me stop to have a look..
