I always carry my camera...you never know what you see :)
I had to pay a quick visit to Carrickfergus before lunch today and noticed a lot of folk standing at the side of the harbour and wondered what they were all looking down at.Well, it was this little boat and several people standing around it. The man on board ( I think I know who he was but hadn't time to wait and speak to him) was reading a letter from soldier who was at Normandy and it appears that this boat is travelling round the British Isles to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the D Day landings. The pipes in the photo are the actual pipes which were played at Normandy.
Carrick was ready for tomorrow's Giro d'Italia cycle race too - with banners on the castle walls.
And no trip to Carrick (no matter how short) is complete without a quick "hello" into my brother's shop :)

Beautiful photo's Ruth. Love Alison xx
ReplyDeleteAmazing what you can see, if you are in the right place at the right time Ruth. Of course, it makes a difference when you live in such a lovely area in the first place. Thank you for sharing your trip with us.
