Hand made flower for Julie's Inkspot
By now I'm well and truly enjoying having a blog so that I can enter lots of different challenges.
If you have ever visited Julie's Inkspot
you'll know that Julie is the creator of some fantastically classy cards. I have been checking her blog and her Docrafts site for some time now and am always inspired by the elegance of her cards.
She is offering blog candy to the winner of a challenge created by her to celebrate the anniversary of her blog. All you have to do is make an elegant card with a hand made flower on! Sounds simple but believe me it's taken me days to come up with my entry
I kept the card as plain as possible to make the flower the focal point.
I cut petal shapes from faux suede which has a thin backing to stop fraying, then added a circle of cream lace and topped it with a button.
I threaded seed beads onto wire, added a couple of larger beads and twisted the "stems" round a cocktail stick.
The leaves are cut from a little template sent to me by a friend with holographic detail added.
I then chalked around the edges of the raised card and computer generated sentiment.

Hi Ruth I love all the little details on this card, the crochet lace under the brad, way you've done the leaves, the beautiful beading. A beautiful job, thanks for entering and good luck with winning.
