Tonic Studios Kit 70 - Lifetime of Adventure Memory Book

It's the 20th of the month so it's Kit Unboxing Day at Tonic!
Kit 70 is called A Lifetime of Adventure and makes different combinations of memory books.

You can see my video showing the unboxing, then how to create a memory book with the spine included, a little pocket with a belly band and then how to make signatures for a memory book which can be bound with twine or ribbon.

I hope you enjoy watching :)

In this video I show you through the Christmas Icons collection of die sets which includes Holly & Ivy Festive Frame die set, Merry Christmas Candy Cane & Poinsettia die set, It's Christmas Time Cracker & Stocking die set, Seasons Greetings Festive Bell & Wreath die set.

Tonic Studios Thankful Harvest Box Showcase

In this Step by Step blog post I'll show you how to make the Thankful Harvest Box with a magnetic closure but you can also see how to make the box with 3 other closures in my video here

You will need
Thankful Harvest Box Die Set
Ivory Smooth Card
Smooth Mint Mirror Card
Deluxe Adhesive

How to Make it

1. Die cut 2 of the large box shape from your base colour and burnish all the score lines.

2. Use the 2 dies shown to cut out 2 decorative panels. Glue these onto the corresponding shapes on the box.

3. Use the 2 dies shown to cut out the decorative rectangles and glue in place.

4. Die cut the decorative panels for the dies of the pockets and the top of the box with the dies shown and glue in place.

5. Fold inwards, glue the tab and along the bottom and fold the other side over to create a pocket.

6. Turn one panel at 180 degrees to the other and glue together by the central tabs as shown.

7. It should then look like this.

8. Glue the small tabs on each side of the next panel to the corresponding sides on the box front and back.

9. Use the outline shape shown to die cut one plain shape then tape the slit die into place using the notches as guides to create a panel with a slit.

10 Use both dies shown to create 2 patterned panels and glue these onto the plain shapes, making sure to line up the slit on one of them.

11. Die cut a strap and fold.

12. Attach a small magnet to the underside of the circle.

13. Glue the panel with the slit onto one side of the box. Tuck the short end of the strap into the slit and glue in place.

14. Place another magnet on top of the one already glued and add the adhesive circle on top. Then fold over the strap and press into place on the side of the box.

15. Glue the second side panel (without the slit) on top, covering the magnet.

16. Now the strap will close over and be held in place with the magnets.

17. Die cut the tag. And leaves and attach to the top of the box with ribbon. Then make a card for the inside using the plain die shown for the ivory part and using both dies shown for the green die cut. Glue both together.

Tonic Studios Santa & Friends (& Festive Tags)

Aren't these just the cutest! I made these with the "Santa & Friends" die set from Tonic and you can watch the whole process in my video here

There are 47 dies in the set and you can use them not only to create these 3 characters but, with a little bit of imagination, you can create many more eg penguin, fairy etc.

Using Your Scraps! Video 1 - Making Toppers

Have you got lots of little scraps of card (...and ribbon...and diecuts...) in boxes on your desk? Yes, I thought so! And so have I! It's actually not a bad thing to get rid of some of these if they are creating too much clutter but I'd rather find a use for them.

This is the first video in a series where I'll be showing you some of the many ways in which you can creatively use up some of your scraps. You don't need to follow along, but this will hopefully spark your imagination to use some of your own little pieces.
I hope to follow this video up with more showing how to use up plain card scraps, patterned paper scraps etc and you can let me know what you think.
Thanks so much for looking :)
