I painted these hearts with Folk Art Acrylic paint, then used Extreme Glitter Paint in the centres and Mod Podge Mega Glitter on the outer hearts to show the difference between the finishes of the two glitter effects. Hope this helps those who were asking

Another one of my beach themed monograms. I love making these  I stippled the "A" with Folk Art Extreme Glitter Paint (Aqua, Turquoise and Emerald) from Plaid Crafts and added some shells which I hand made from Sculpey and coloured with Promarkers.
I also added a Dovecraft "lighthouse" die and my favourite Simply Creative pearls. You can see how I made the shells on my recent blog post

edding 4000 and 4040 markers for terracotta, wood and cardboard.

I was trying out some more edding markers today :) This time it was the 4000's and 4040's which are specifically used on terracotta, wood and cardboard. I used them on a couple of small wooden hearts with great results - no bleeding in the grain of the wood! Both hearts were plain wood to start off and I used the black 4000 for the background and the 4040 's (pink, red, green and white for the flowers.

How to Make an Aperture Gatefold Card - Dovecraft Premium "Folkland" collection

I've used 2 5x7 circle aperture cards along with the new Dovecraft Premium "Folkland" collection to makethis gatefold card with band and hidden insert.

You will need:
Dovecraft Premium "Folkland" 8x8 paper pad
Dovecraft Premium "Folkland" Puffy Stickers
Dovecraft Premium "Folkland" Mini Wooden Pegs
Dovecraft Premium "Folkland" Clear Stamps with Matching Dies
Dovecraft Premium "Folkland" Resin Flowers
Dovecraft Premium "Folkland" Cotton Ribbons
Dovecraft Hi tack double sided tape.
2 x Dovecraft 5x7 aperture cards
Dovecraft Luxury Heavyweight A4 white card
Dot and Dab White Glue

How to make it:
 1. Score and fold down the centre of  the first aperture card .

2. Turn the second aperture card over so that the fold is on the right edge. Score and fold as before , then cut/punch a semi circle at the centre of the back of the card.
Put a line of hi tack tape on the outside edges of the "pocket".

 3. Turn the card again and stick down on top of the back of the first card, so that the folded apertures line up in  the middle of the card.

 4. Cut a piece of gold foiled heart paper to fit the front of the pocket, cut a semicircle at the top to match the pocket. Glue to the front of the pocket. Glue the folded parts back.

5. Cut a piece of floral paper measuring 12.5cm x 17.5cm, then remove a circle the same size as the aperture in the card. You can measure this or do it with a circle die. Cut in half down the centre.

6. Glue to the front of the card.

 7. Die cut 2 of the tags from white card and overlap. Attach a floral Puffy Sticker to the right one. Stamp the butterfly onto patterned paper, cut out with the matching die and glue by the body to the top of the tag. Add a resin flower to the left tag and a wooden peg at the top. Close the card and glue these in the centre of the aperture.

8. Cut a strip of white card measuring 3cm x 29cm  and fold carefully around the card so that it overlaps in the centre. Glue the ends together to form a band. Cover the front and back with a 12.75cm x 2.75cm strip of arrow paper.

9. To make the insert, cut a 10cm x 13.5cm rectangle of white card. Add a tab of butterfly ribbon at the top and two strips of washi tape along the bottom.

31st wedding aniversary

31 years married today! How did that happen?? We were so young and the years have flown by.
I am so privileged to call this amazing man my husband

I must have literally hundreds of photos of us together over the years but these are some from before we were married
Poor quality photos were the order of the day back then! (1983)

 My 21st birthday :)

Explore!

This is a card I made a few weeks ago with the Dovecraft "Lost and Found" collection from Trimcraft. I just love it when the papers have so many different coordinating embellishments to use  - dies, washi tape, twine, puffy stickers, buttons, wooden frames, sentiment stickers, wooden shapes, gems etc :)

Tonic Studios Craft Kit 10 Inspiration

Most of the subscribers to the Tonic Craft Kits should have received their kits by now so I've made a few things to give you some inspiration :)
I love this one as it's got my favourite colours inside!
I've used the Ocean Blue card, Cosmic Copper card, dies, stamp, Shimmer Powder, Mist Spray Bottle and Crystal Drops. I have also used a few thing which are not in the kit - white card, flower dies 9from 2204e), Butterfly die (1933e) and New York Landmark dies (1629e)

The steps to make this card are all further down in this post:)

Tutorial card

How to make it:
 1. Gently tap some Shimmer Powder onto the card. NB Do not squeeze the bottle as it takes very little of this powder to create the effect!

 2. Lightly spray some water onto the powder. I let some pool in the centre to create an area of solid colour.

 3. Leave to dry or use a heat tool.

 4. Trim to fit the card front (13.5cm square) and use the remaining card to cut 3 of the banner shapes.

 5. Attach the banners to the card with 3D foam squares.

 6. Cut a 14cm square of Ocean Blue card  to go behind the patterned card.

 7. Glue the patterned card onto the Ocean Blue card and attach to the card front.

 8. Die cut  THANKS from Ocean Blue card and glue to the centre banner shape.

 9. Die cut a narrow banner from Ocean Blue card and glue to the banner on the right. Add some random dots of Ripened Pumpkin Crustal Drops.

10. Die cut 2 flowers from the Oval Pansy Die set 2204e, shape with an embossing tool and add a Crystal Drop in the centre.
