Twenty First Birthday

I had a card to make for a friend and namesake who is 21 today and I wanted to make it personally for her so I drew the image to suit. This is "Ruth at the piano!"
She loves fancy shoes and BIG belts!

I was happy to see that this fits with the challenge at One stop Craft ....make it personal and
Our Creative Corner...music
Frosted Designs...embossing (the flowers)
Daring Cardmakers...schooldays (music lesson)

I got the music "ribbon" yesterday in a sale and didn't realize till I got home that it was self adhesive. It comes white so I coloured it black with a Promarker.
The wording was made using Monde de Blonde Sizzix dies.

Max, the Westie has gone home and I wasn't able to get a photo. We have looked after him for holidays for 6 years and it's only lately that he has decided that he doesn't like cameras.I'm really not too sure what has happened.

Hope you are all enjoying the snow! We have had lots more last night and today!

Polka Dot Happy Birthday

It's been a little while since I got the time to make a card as I'm working a lot more than usual at the moment. It's lovely to be able to relax with my crafting stuff some evenings but isn't always possible. I'm certainly not complaining as it's great to have a job!!
Well, here's the result of my latest efforts...
I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday,
got the inspiration from Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge
and I'm entering it for Design Dollies..Birthday
and A Spoonfull of Sugar..freestyle

My feet are lovely and warm as I type this as I'm looking after a little Westie for a week and he is lying on top of my feet while I am on the computer! He runs away when I get the camera out for some reason but if I can catch him sleeping I'll upload a photo..

Have a Mice Day

My lovely friend Tara sent me this gorgeous image quite a while ago and ever since I've had the idea of wrapping embroidery thread around the spool to see what it was like. So.... I got lots of different colours of thread lately to try various things with and made this one first.
I've actually used the sketch from "Clare's Weekly Challenge" on Docrafts as it's a while since I've done it and combined it with
Allsorts....brown and pink
A Spoonful of Sugar...lots of layering
Creative Card Crew...Punch it!
Papertake...pretty pink

I've used silver glitter gel pen for the needles and thimble but it's not showing up too well in the photo.

Basic Grey and Caardvarks challenges

Have you seen the gorgeous inspirational photo on the lastest challenge over at Basic Grey? All I can say is "Wow!!"
As anyone whose house I've been transforming lately will know, these colours and this style are right at the top of my "go for it" list...

I was having a look at some challenge blogs which I've never visited before and fell in love with the beautiful sketch on the Caardvarks challenge so I decided to combine the two challenges.

The paper I've used is Basic Grey/ Nook and pantry which was sent to me by my dear friend Tara (thanks again!) and Making Memories/Pearl swirl..I Do.
The stems were made with an Xcut Impress border stencil in my Cuttlebug and the flowers with an Xcut punch.
Not my usual style but I think I could get to like it.

Orchid

After seeing some gorgeous black and white cards lately (especially Christine's DT card) I wanted to try one of my own. I had already coloured one of my orchid stamps over the holidays and it was ideal to use with the sketch at Truly Scrumptious. The optional extra was using the colours black, green and pink.
It also fits into
Crafty Creations...black and white with a splash of colour
Crazy4Challenges...Birthday
Crafty Catz...bright and sparkly
Stamp, Scrap and Doodle...celebration
Fussy and Fancy..new (New Promarker shades)
Rainbow lady's Challenge...New ( new Promarkers)
I've used this Orchid stamp from my A Passion for Stamps range

Christine's DT card

Would you just look at this beauty created by Christine using 2 stamps from my A Passion for Stamps range....Andrea and Jonny.
I'm sure you'll agree it's an absolutely gorgeous engagement card in monochrome and she has really shown the images off to their full potential. I love it!

Mojo Monday

Hello from snowy Northern Ireland!!
I really loved looking at all the snow while I was off for Christmas but I'm afraid it's a little different now that I'm back to work! The hills and mountains around Belfast do look beautiful at the moment but I've been on a few trips in the car where we've been skidding along sideways and even backwards and I'll be glad when it all clears up!
Anyhow, onto the card..
This one's for the Mojo Monday challenge where the sketch is provided this week.
As I'm having a BIG sale of my stamps at the moment I thought I'd use one of them to show you..
It's "Morning Glory" from A Passion for Stamps

Passion for Promarker Challenge and Creative Card Crew DT call

This is another chalenge I couldn't miss!! Passion for Promarkers has a mega challenge and the theme is "anything but a card with a Christmas or New Year theme".
I've made a little box as a New Year present for a friend and decorated it with Papermania Blueberry Hill Paper and one of my own drawings of roses coloured with.....Promarkers!
The frame is made using 2 different Nesties.

I think I'll enter the Creative Card Crew DT call with this one as well as it's a little different and not a card..

Creative Card Crew

I've been meaning to make a card for the Creative Card Crew challenge since last week as they are looking for 2 new DT members so I finally got it finished!
The theme is quite simple....Anything Goes!
So, I've used one of my own drawings (rose topiary) and coloured it with Promarkers/
The paper is a Kate Knight Design which I've had for quite a while but just loved the look of it again.
I've added lace, leaves and scallops in cream so as not to let the pink become overpowering.
Here goes...
